Time For Your Checkup

The kids had their checkups today. Zuri's 6 year and William's 1 year.  Doctor McIntire was pleased with how both kids are developing all around.  Zuri didn't have any vaccinations today, but poor William had 4. He had 2 shots in each thigh and a finger prick to test his hemoglobin. His finger wouldn't stop bleeding. There's blood on my shirt, blood on the cabinet, and blood on him. Good news - hemoglobin is perfect!

Zuri:
Height - 4'1" (96th percentile)
Weight - 57lb 3.2oz (92nd percentile)

William:
Height - 31.5" (93rd percentile)
Weight - 28lb 6oz (99th percentile)
Head - 19" (94th percentile)

Zuri's Birthday Party!

We celebrated with Zuri's friends and family on March 11th at ZipCity.  The kids had a blast jumping on the trampolines and doing the zip line!

William wanted to play!

We let him....sorta.

Wordless Wednesday

Zuri Turns 6!!!

Zuri turned 6 on March 7th!  6....seriously?  How'd that happen?

Part of the gifts from Mommy, Daddy, and Bubby.

She's been asking for this for awhile.
William is a tad ticklish!

I surprised Zuri with coming to have lunch with her on her birthday.

Birthday girl at her choice for dinner, Kabutos.

William was mesmerized by the fire!

Shenanigans!

Best family pic I could get.
The day after her birthday, Zuri received a couple more gifts from us.  A polaroid camera and a Taylor Swift CD.  She took all 10 pictures within about 5 minutes!  Thankfully, she received more film for her birthday from others.

Zuri Lane,

We cannot believe you are 6.  You are such an awesome kid.  You are sassy, but you are also kind and compassionate.  You are beautiful and intelligent.  You are sassy (did I already say that?).  You are independent.  You are a great big sister and such a huge help to mommy and daddy when it comes to William.  You're reading like a pro.  You are just all around a good kid (despite the sass!).

We love you more than you'll ever know!

Love,
Mommy, Daddy, & Bubby

Zuri's 6 Year Photo Shoot

Here are some pictures from Zuri's photo shoot for her 6th birthday.  Dalonte did an excellent job capturing some great shots despite Zuri's attitude that day.  She was being VERY diva-ish and had a horrible attitude.  Oh man....  Dalonte is going to share a montage of the outtakes with me and I'll share those here later.  :o)

William's 1 Year Photos

Here are a few of the photos from William's 1 year photo cake smash photo shoot!  Pictures courtesy of the talented Dalonte Keemer!

William Turns 1!!!

We celebrated William's 1st birthday with friends and family on February 25, 2017.  We had close to 60 people attend!  The newly renovated Greenwood Community Center is awesome.  The kids had a blast playing there.  William was overwhelmed by the number of people so he cried quite often.  :o)  He opened his gifts at home and enjoyed playing with the paper and bags the most --- typical of most babies.  Dalonte did an awesome job of capturing the party.  I'm glad I had him do that because I didn't take very many pictures and those who know me know that is not common!!

Group Photo!

All his goodies!!

This is one of my favorite gifts William received.  See the meme below for the reason why!

Yes, I created a meme from my son's photo!  I mean...I couldn't resist!

Since William is a Leap Day baby, we celebrated his birthday on March 1st this year.  We all had work and school/daycare, but we still had a good time celebrating our 1 year old!!

Gifts from mommy, daddy, and sissy.

William brought in donut holes for his friends.  He was a little too excited for them!

These next few photos show my last monthly picture of William.  He is always on the move and always has something in his mouth!

Some "then and now" pictures.

Our first picture as a family of 4 and the 4 of us on William's birthday.

Hard to imagine this little guy was in the special care nursery pretty much his first 48 hours of life and now look at him!

Dear William,

We cannot believe you are already 1.  This past year has flown by.  The first few weeks were rough adjusting to life with 2 kids, but you helped make that transition an easy one.  You've been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks.  You are a happy kid (unless you're teething).  You transitioned from bottle/formula to milk/sippy cup like a champ.  You eat like a teenager.  You babble a lot.  You drool a lot.  You say "dada," "mama," "all done."  You have 4 teeth (top and bottom front).  You have at least 2 others about to break through on the bottom.  You think your sister is silly.  She makes you laugh.  You love to get into EVERYTHING.....even the cat food.

We have your 1 year check up on March 15th so we'll get your "official" stats then, but I'd guess you to be 30 pounds and 35 inches or so.

We all love you more than you'll ever know.

Love,
Mommy, Daddy, & Sissy
