Shoes...

We went to Shoe Carnival tonight to get Zuri new tennis shoes. She saw these and just *had* to try them on. She loved them. In fact, she said, "I need these shoes in my life."  When I told her to put them back because we weren't getting them, she said to the shoes, "Goodbye beautiful shoes. My mom says you can't come home with me." Oh my.... #princesszuri #weareintrouble #shoesnob #shedidgettennisshoes

Zuri's First Game Day Performance!!

Zuri and the rest of the 2017 Colts Junior Cheerleaders (over 300 of them!!) did a fantastic job at their first game day performance!!  It was a very long day, but was also a very cool experience for me and Zuri.  I volunteered to help so I was able to be there the entire time.  We left the house around 10am and arrived back home around 5:30pm.  :o)

Here is a recap of our day in pictures!!  Videos to the routine are at the end.

Zuri was very excited for her performance!!

Ready to practice at the training facility.

Zuri and her new friend, Evian, on the bus ride to the stadium.  They are so cute together.  :o)

Vanessa and Rose left sweet notes for all the girls.  We love Vanessa and Rose!!

I thought it was super sweet how Evian and Zuri were talking and giggling on the way to the stadium.  I had to snap this picture.

Finally at the stadium!!!  Squad 8 is great!

Waiting in the tunnel.  There was lots of waiting, but the girls did exceptionally well!

The girls got so excited when Vanessa and Rose showed up in the tunnel!!!

On the field waiting to perform!!!

Zuri loves to dance.  :o)

After the performance, Ella, Zuri, and Evian played around with Snapchat.  These girls are funny and so cute together.  :o)

Heading back to the bus to go to the training facility.  Sweet girls.

Now for the videos of the performance.  Zuri is on the 40 yard line - about the middle of the line of girls.  :o)

Weekend Recap!

Wow - I have a lot of catching up to do on this blog. Hopefully in the next week I can catch up. Until then, here's a recap of our wonderful weekend!

We started the weekend off with our annual neighborhood picnic at German Park. The weather was phenomenal and we all had a blast!

Saturday, after hanging out at home in the morning, we celebrated Zuri's friend, Avery's, 7th birthday at the Greenwood Splash Pad. Again, weather was phenomenal and we all had a blast!  Eric, Karen, Trev, Madeline, and Madeline's mom all stopped by as well!  We were going to go to the State Fair to meet up with Shawn, Mandy, and kids, but we were unable to get there due to various traffic issues. We promised Zuri we would go today though.  We took Zuri to Eric's and Karen's to spend the night and after William went to bed, Brent and I watched a non-kids movie (This Is The End). Something we haven't done in a long time it seems!

This morning, as promised, we went to the State Fair. Andy and Zayne met us there.  When we first arrived, a cow was giving birth. I wanted to stay and watch, but Brent and Zuri had no interest. Zuri said she is never having kids because she doesn't like blood. 😉 We walked around and saw some cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and baby ducks!  We rode some rides too. Zuri and I rode the sky ride across the fair. It was pretty neat. William wanted to have fun too so we took him on a couple rides as well.  It was Zuri's first trip to the State Fair and she loved it!

After the Fair, we hung out at home, grocery shopped, and then we went next door to swim and hang out with Carol, Ryan, and everyone else.
