First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Zuri's first day of Kindergarten!  I cannot believe she's old enough to be in Kindergarten.  Why does time continue moving so fast even though I asked it not to?! ;o)

Zuri had a good day today and really enjoyed herself. I can't wait to see what this school year brings!

Today, Zuri wants to be a scientist, a teacher, and a vet. Good thing we started  a 529 plan 5 years ago!
I can't handle the cuteness!
Seriously?!  Too cute!
To celebrate the first day, we stopped at Starbucks before school.
Here we go!
Zuri and Mrs. Robison.
Raeleigh and Zuri both with Mrs. Robison.
Cute girls. So glad they are in class together!
She found her seat!
Her new fave thing to do. Mr. Kelso taught her this. :o)
As the parents were dropping the kids off, Mrs. Robison had packages for us. How sweet!!!
Daddy sent me this after school picture.  :o)

Today was also a big day for Zuri's little brother. Check out the previous post.

5 Months

5 months, seriously?  How has it been 5 months since William was born?  We went to the doctor this past Tuesday (first ear infection) and our little guy weighs 20lbs 5oz!!  Whoa!

William loves to smile and laugh. He isn't so sure about some of the baby foods we've been trying. I think he wants big people food. :o) He loves to take a bath. Every time, without fail, he pees 5 seconds after putting him in the tub!!

We love our Leap Day Baby. Stop growing up so fast though!

Today was also a big day for sissy. Check out the next post.

This and That

Zuri had her final gymnastics class of the summer on Thursday. She and Halle were paired up during class.  I'm not sure if that was good or bad. LOL

Zuri is always trying to pick people up.
Halle telling Zuri a secret.
Sweet.

After gymnastics, Zuri and I met Papaw John and Grandma Andrea for dinner. Zuri wanted to ride Papaw's motorcycle. She needs a helmet her size!

Saturday morning, Zuri went shopping with Aunt Julie.
While they shopped, we went to lunch with William. He said he was tired of the bottle and wanted a chip. ;o) (Don't worry, I didn't let him get it anywhere close to his mouth!)

This morning, Zuri tried on some of her new school clothes.  I can't believe she starts Kindergarten this Friday!!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Schulz' new place and then lunch today. After lunch, Grandma and I went shopping. When we got home, we saw this.

We stayed a few hours. Zuri found a new doll she wanted to take home. His name is Joey. She told Grandma that Joey's face felt like glass. It's porcelain. Grandma explained that she needed to be very careful. Zuri did pretty good, but when she asked to take him home, I quickly said no!  Our luck, she'd drop him as soon as we walked through the door!!

Both kids got new clothes today. William wore one pair of his new PJs to bed. He's in 9mo clothes now (he will be 5mo next Friday)!

Johnson County Fair

Brent and I took Zuri to the Johnson County Fair Friday night. We didn't leave until William was in bed. Trevor and Madeline sat at the house with William while we took Zuri.
After trying to park at Kohl's and being stopped by a police officer who told us we couldn't park there, we finally made it!
Zuri and I rode quite a few rides. Daddy watched on the sidelines. :o)

Here we are at the top of the Ferris wheel.
Hi, Daddy!
We rode the Ferris wheel right before we left too. Here was our view from the top.

Zuri had a great time. It was hot, but bearable. I'm glad we went. :o)

Mashed Potatoes Monday

William tried mashed potatoes tonight. At first, he was not happy. He loved them after a few bites though!

We all played on the floor after dinner. William loves grabbing Mommy's and Sissy's hair.

While Daddy got William to bed, Mommy and Zuri shopped for a new backpack.  Zuri picked out this Superman backpack. It has a cape and lights up.  I cannot believe I will have a Kindergartner next Friday. Eek!

New Mom and Dad

Aunt Junie stopped by tonight. Zuri asked her if she could live with her.  Junie said yes so Zuri said she was going to pack her bag. Junie, Brent, and I keep talking and next thing we know, Zuri comes in with her bag. She had several clothes, her iPad, and some Barbies packed. She wouldn't let up. She wanted to go with Junie. Zuri says it's boring at our house and Junie's house has stairs.  Do you know how long she's been wanting a house with stairs?  51 years!  ;o) I asked how she would get to school and she said since Junie lives in Greenwood and her school is in Greenwood, they could walk to school. Ha!

Zuri said Dave and Junie can be her new mom and dad. She said she would come visit us though.

We compromised and said she could spend the night with Junie Friday.

Hodgepodge

Thursday morning, I was trying to get a picture with William looking at me. Zuri got fed up and said, "Just take the picture, mom!"  Ha!!

Brent sent me this while Zuri and I were at dinner Thursday. William loves baths!!

Saturday morning, Zuri FaceTimed with Aunt Karen and asked if she could spend the night. That was at 8:30 in the morning. Within 5 minutes of hanging up, Zuri had her bag packed!
My sweet babies. :o)

We went down to visit Uncle Butch. Butch tickled William's toes and made William smile.  That made Butch smile which made me smile!

Here's William with Papaw John. I think they like each other. Just a little.

Sunday morning, Brent, William, and I met Eric, Karen, Trev, and Zuri for breakfast.

Zuri loves Uncle Eric.
William said he wanted some coffee. ;o)

Later Sunday, we had lunch at Tony's for Bree's 16th birthday celebration. William had his Popeye onesie on still and so we got a picture of the big Popeye (Eric's old nickname) and the little Popeye. ;o)
Zuri and Asher acted like puppies and kittens. Hahaha
Before leaving, Zuri asked me if she could stay with Tony. Forever. Not just for the night; she wanted to move in!  I told her to ask Tony. This was Tony saying, "Is that your puppy dog face?!"  Guess it wasn't convincing. LOL

I had a total case of the Mondays this morning. Looking at these two made my day better. Their smiles are contagious. I love the way they interact with each other.
